How is the Fundamental Grade calculated?
The Fundamental Grade is calculated from a weighted blend of eight fundamental variables: Operating Margin Growth, Sales Growth, Earnings Growth, Earnings Momentum, Earnings Surprises, Analyst Earnings Revisions, Cash Flow and Return on Equity. The Fundamental Grade is the same in Portfolio Grader and Dividend Grader. TIP: Looking for the definitions of these variables? Why is a stock not rated in Dividend Grader?
Dividend Grader grades over 1,000 stocks. These stocks must be common stocks or American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) that have been traded for at least 1 year on the NYSE, NASDAQ, or AMEX. These companies must have traded more than 2500 shares over the past 20 days of trading and the most current price must be equal to or greater than $1. Stocks must also pay a dividend to qualify.
Spiders and other popular ETFs are not able to be rated because there is no fundamental data in which to evaluate.
How often are the Portfolio Grader grades updated?
The Dividend Grader grades are updated every Monday morning to reflect the most current market conditions. Look at the top of any page for the specific date that the grades were last updated.
