As of January 29, 2012, it operated 576 stores, including 259 Williams-Sonoma, 194 Pottery Barn, 83 Pottery Barn Kids, 37 West Elm, and 3 Rejuvenation stores in 44 states of the United States; Washington, D.C.; Canada; and Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
