This segment engages in the wholesale banking activities, including corporate and middle-market banking business; retail banking activities, such as mortgage, consumer financing, and wealth management; treasury activities comprising money market trades, foreign exchange trading, derivatives, and proprietary trading; microlending; and private banking, asset management, and proprietary investment activities. The Insurance segment provides property, transportation, marine hull, automobile, life, health, and pension fund underwriting insurance. It also provides health and wellness programs, primary and specialized ambulatory services, and comprehensive acute care services. The Pension Funds segment offers private pension fund management services to individuals. The Investment Banking segment provides asset management services, including mutual, investment, and alternative funds, as well as structured, cross-border, and offshore initiatives to clients in retail, private and high net worth, corporate, and institutional segments; and equity and fixed income products, as well as exchange rate products and derivatives. This segment also provides corporate finance products, such as advisory services to structure mid- and long-term financing; and structure and place equity and fixed income instruments in capital markets, as well as financial advisory services and advisory services for mergers and acquisitions.
