Company Profile

Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides clean coal technology and the associated specialty chemicals serving the coal-fueled power plant industry in the United States. It operates in two segments, Refined Coal and Emissions Control. The company offers Activated Carbon Injection (ACI) systems to reduce mercury emissions over a range of plant configurations and coal types; Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) systems to reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide and other acid gases, such as sulfur trioxide and hydrogen chloride; ADAir-Mixer that alters flue gas flow to enhance mixing and optimize particle dispersion to reduce sorbent consumption for DSI and ACI systems; and ProRak mercury process analyzer, which provides real-time mercury emissions measurements. It also provides CyClean technology to enhance combustion, as well as to reduce emissions of NOx and mercury from coals burned in cyclone boilers; M-45 and M-45-PC technologies for circulating fluidized bed boilers and pulverized coal boilers; M-Prove technology that offers an alternative to other halogen-based and oxidation chemicals used to enhance removal of mercury emissions; and RESPond liquid chemical additive, an ash resistivity modifier for power plants operating cold-side electrostatic precipitators. In addition, the company offers general consulting services related to emissions control; ADA Health Check services to review the operational performance of emissions control systems; and continuous emissions monitoring systems reliability program services (CEMS) that offer evaluation of customer CEMS systems and remediation of any identified operating issues; and predictive emissions monitoring system, which provides continuous monitoring of mercury levels in flue gas. It serves customers in the coal-fired power generation, industrial boiler, and cement industries. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
