American National Insurance Company, together with its subsidiaries, provides insurance products and services in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa. The company’s Life segment offers individual and group life insurance products, including whole life, term life, variable universal life, and universal life; and credit life insurance. Its Annuity segment distributes fixed annuities comprising single premium deferred annuities, equity-indexed deferred annuities, and single premium immediate annuities to individuals and small businesses. The company’s Health segment offers medicare supplement, supplemental insurance, medical expense, stop-loss, and credit disability insurance. Its Property and Casualty segment provides personal lines insurance, such as personal auto, homeowners, boats, motorcycles, recreational Vehicles, and other personal exposures; and commercial lines insurance, which include property and casualty coverage tailored for a farm, ranch or other agricultural business operations, contractors, and targeted business within the rural and suburban markets, as well as commercial insurance encompassing property coverage, liability coverage, and workers’ compensation coverage. The company distributes its products through multiple-line agents, independent agents, third-party marketing organizations, career agents, and direct sales to the public. American National Insurance Company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Galveston, Texas.
