Company Profile

Golden Minerals Company engages in the exploration and development of precious metals and other mineral properties in Mexico and South America. The comapny explores for gold, silver, copper, zinc, and lead ores, as well as base metals. It primarily owns and operates Velardena and Chicago properties located in the State of Durango, Mexico. The company also owns 100% interest in the El Quevar silver exploration project that comprises 32 concessions totaling approximately 55,000 hectares located in the province of Salta, Argentina. In addition, it owns and controls 80 exploration properties located primarily in Mexico and South America. The company was formerly known as Apex Silver Mines Limited and changed its name to Golden Minerals Company on March 24, 2009 as a result of reorganization. Golden Minerals Company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Golden, Colorado.
