It is also involved in the derivative and hedging activities; structuring and distribution of syndicated loans; and purchase and sale of loans in the secondary market. The company was formerly known as Banco Latinoamericano de Exportaciones, S.A. and changed its name to Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. in June 2009.
