Its Home Service Insurance segment focuses on the life insurance needs of the middle and lower income markets primarily in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. This segment provides whole life and pre-need policies designed to fund final expenses for the insured primarily consisting of funeral and burial costs; and limited-liability named peril property policies covering dwellings and contents. The Home Service Insurance segment markets its policies through home service marketing distribution system; and through funeral homes and independent agents who sell policies, collect premiums, and service policyholders. The company was founded in 1969 and is based in Austin, Texas.
