It operates in two segments, Consumer Products and Pet Products. The Consumer Products segment manufactures, markets, and sells branded and private label shelf-stable products, including fruit, vegetable, tomato, broth, and tuna products. The Pet Products segment offers branded and private label dry and wet pet food, and pet snacks. The company offers its consumer products under the Del Monte, StarKist, S&W, Contadina, and College Inn brand names; and pet food and pet snacks products under the Meow Mix, Kibbles n Bits, 9Lives, Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, Meaty Bone, Snausages, and Pounce brand names. Del Monte Foods sells its products through direct sales force and independent food brokers to grocery, club store, supercenter, and mass merchandiser customers, as well as pet specialty, dollar stores, drug stores, convenience stores, military, foodservice, food ingredients, and private label. The company was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
