Company Profile

Frontline Ltd., through its subsidiaries, engages in the ownership and operation of oil tankers and oil/bulk/ore (OBO) carriers. It primarily transports crude oil; and raw materials, such as coal and iron ore. The company’s OBO carriers transport dry cargo. Its very large crude carriers (VLCCs) primarily transport crude oil from the Middle East Gulf to the Far East, northern Europe, the Caribbean, and the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, as well as Suezmax tankers trade in the Atlantic Basin, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Frontline Ltd. also involves in the charter, purchase, and sale of vessels. As of December 31, 2010, it operated 44 VLCCs which are owned or chartered in between 200,000 and 320,000 deadweight ton (dwt); 21 Suezmax tankers that are owned or chartered in 200,000 and 320,000 dwt; and 8 Suezmax OBOs, which are chartered in, as well as had 3 VLCCs under its commercial management. Frontline Ltd. was founded in 1948 and is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
