It sells its products through various channels of distribution, including Web, call center, independent health advisors, medical professionals, weight loss clinics, and direct consumer marketing supported via the phone and the Web; Take Shape for Life, a physician led network of independent health coaches; and weight control centers. Medifast, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland.
