The company operates in four segments: Standard & Poor’s Ratings (S&P Ratings), S&P Capital IQ/S&P Indices, Commodities & Commercial (C&C), and McGraw-Hill Education (MHE). The S&P Ratings segment offers credit ratings, credit risk evaluations, and ratings-related information research to investors, corporations, governments, financial institutions, investment managers, and advisors. The S&P Capital IQ/S&P Indices segment provides comprehensive value-added financial data, information, indices, and research services for investment advisors, wealth managers, and institutional investors. The C&C segment offers information, insight, and analysis for professionals and corporate executives in the automotive, aerospace and defense, construction, and energy sectors, as well as for business and financial professionals, traders, investors, marketers, advertisers, and consumers. This segment consists of business to business companies, including such brands as Platts, J.D. Power and Associates, McGraw-Hill Construction, and Aviation Week. The MHE segment sells integrated digital e-learning platforms, textbooks, instructional resources, and digital and print products for the college and university, professional, international, and adult education markets. It also offers textbooks and supplemental materials in print, digital, and hybrid versions; and online and traditional assessment and reporting services to the pre-kindergarten, elementary, secondary, testing, supplemental, vocational, and post-secondary fields. The company serves its customers through digital data and information, integrated digital platforms, Websites, printed books, magazines, newsletters, and conferences and trade shows. The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. was founded in 1888 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
