This segment offers its products for use in areas of the investment process consisting of portfolio construction and rebalancing, performance benchmarking and attribution, risk management and analysis, index-linked investment product creation, asset allocation, assessment of social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and the effects of climate change on investments, investment manager selection and investment research. Its Governance segment provides corporate governance products and financial research and analysis services to institutional shareholders and corporations. This segment offers global security coverage and fully integrated products and services comprising proxy voting, policy creation, research, vote recommendations, vote execution, post-vote disclosure, and reporting and analytical tools. This segment also provides products and services to learn about and improve governance and executive compensation practices to corporate clients. MSCI Inc. serves asset owners, such as pension funds, endowments, foundations, central banks, family offices, and insurance companies; institutional and retail asset managers, including managers of pension assets, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, hedge funds, and private wealth; financial intermediaries, such as banks, broker-dealers, exchanges, custodians and investment consultants; and corporate clients.
