The company operates high voltage electricity transmission networks and gas transmission network in Great Britain; gas distribution system in the United Kingdom; regulated gas distribution networks, electricity distribution networks, and high voltage electricity transmission networks in New York and New England; electricity generation facilities in New York; and liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities in the United Kingdom. It also owns electricity interconnector in France and the Netherlands; and a 224 kilometer transmission interconnector between England and Canada. The company serves residential, commercial, and industrial customers. It operates electricity transmission system, which includes approximately 7,200 kilometers of overhead line, 1,350 kilometers of underground cable, and 325 substations; gas transmission system that consists of approximately 7,660 kilometers of high pressure pipe and 23 compressor stations connecting to 8 distribution networks and third party independent systems; and gas distribution system that includes approximately 132,000 kilometers of gas distribution pipeline, which transports gas to approximately 10.8 million consumers in the United Kingdom. The company also operates an electricity distribution network of approximately 112,100 circuit kilometers in New England and upstate New York; and a network of approximately 58,000 kilometers of gas pipeline that distributes gas to approximately 3.5 million customers in northeastern United States. In addition, it owns 57 oil and gas fired electricity generation units on Long Island that provide approximately 4.1 GW of power; and 4.6 MW unit of solar generation in Massachusetts.
