Company Profile

Oxford Resource Partners, LP engages in the production of steam coal and surface mined coal in the United States. It holds interests in 17 active surface mines that are managed as 8 mining complexes. The company’s reserves and operations are located in Northern Appalachia and the Illinois Basin to serve its primary market area of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. As of December 31, 2011, it owned and/or controlled 88.0 million tons of proven and probable coal reserves, of which 63.3 million tons were associated with surface mining operations and 24.7 million tons consisted of underground coal reserves. The company markets coal primarily to electric utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and industrial customers. Oxford Resource Partners, LP was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
