Parker Drilling Company, together with its subsidiaries, provides contract drilling and drilling-related services in the United States, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, the Asia Pacific, and Commonwealth of Independent States. As of March 6, 2012, its rig fleet consisted of 24 land rigs and 2 offshore barge rigs operating in international locations; 13 barge rigs operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico; 1 land rig located in the United States; and 2 land rigs in Alaska undergoing commissioning. The company also offers rental tools, including drill pipes, drill collars, tubing, high- and low-pressure blowout preventers, choke manifolds, junk and cement mills, and casing scrapers for land and offshore oil and gas drilling and workover activities. In addition, it provides technical services, such as engineering and related project services during the concept development, pre-front end engineering design (FEED), and FEED phases of customer-owned drilling facility projects; engineering, procurement, construction, and installation services; operations and maintenance services; and other project management services, including labor, maintenance, and logistics for operators who own their own drilling rigs. The company serves independent and national oil and gas companies, and integrated service providers. Parker Drilling Company was founded in 1934 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
