Company Profile

ViaSat, Inc. provides fixed and mobile broadband services, and satellite and wireless networks, as well as secure networking systems, products, and services for government and commercial customers worldwide. Its Satellite Services segment provides retail and wholesale satellite-based broadband Internet services for consumer, enterprise, and mobile broadband customers; and provides network management services to satellite service providers. The company’s Commercial Networks segment offers various satellite communication systems and ground networking equipment for consumer, enterprise, in-flight, maritime, and ground mobile applications. It offers satellite network infrastructure and ground terminals to access high capacity satellites; enterprise very small aperture terminal networks and products; and mobile broadband satellite communication systems; and antenna systems for terrestrial and satellite applications, such as geo-special imagery, mobile satellite communication, Ka-band gateways, and other multi-band antennas. This segment also provides satellite networking systems design and technology services, including analysis, design, and specification of satellites and ground systems, ASIC and MMIC design and production, and wide area network compression for enterprise networks. ViaSat, Inc.’s Government Systems segment offers network-centric Internet protocol based government satellite communication systems, including portable, mobile, and fixed broadband modems, as well as terminals, network access control systems, and antenna systems; information security and assurance products to communicate information securely over networks, and store on computers and storage devices; and tactical radio and information distribution systems to enable real-time collection and dissemination of video and data using transmission links between command centers, communications nodes, and air defense systems. The company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Carlsbad, California.
