Q&A: Investing the Navellier Growth Way

Dear Louis, I know that you always recommend equally weighting stocks, however, there’s some obvious “winners” and “losers” in our portfolio. Of course I’m always tempted to buy the winners with both hands and leave the rest behind. Though, there’s always that possibility of a rally, or extreme volatility by doing so. What do you recommend?

That’s a temptation we all have, but you’ll sleep much better if you stick closely to an equal weighting strategy. I purposely construct the portfolio as a whole, so the entire Buy List won’t experience too much volatility. I’m all for letting your winners run, so a good plan is to trim back on any winning stocks and use the proceeds to fund our new buys.
