Q&A: Specific Stocks

Please explain why CROX has done so poorly and why you were so bullish on it for so long? Now what do we do since its value is approaching single digits?

Crocs (CROX) recently fell from a B-rated stock to a C-rated stock in PortfolioGrader Pro.  Obviously, I laid a big egg on this stock.  A company director who bought 250,000 shares of Crocs several weeks ago faked me out.  The company's announcement this week of stock buyback of 5 million shares was good, but its lower sales and earnings guidance was bad.  Due to the fact that Crocs sales are slowing due to the woes in the retail sector, I recommend that folks sell Crocs after it announces its upcoming quarterly earnings in early May.  In the interim, I expect that the company's 5 million share buyback will help the stock find firmer footing despite its reduced guidance.
