It sells non-perishable food products, beverages, fruits, vegetables, meat, breads, cold cuts, dairy products, cleaning products, disposable products, and personal care products; non-food products, which include clothing items, baby items, shoes and accessories, household articles, books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, stationery, handcraft, toys, sports and camping gears, furniture, mattresses, pet products, and gardening products; and electronic products, such as personal computers, software, computer accessories, and sound and image systems. The company also provides medications and cosmetics at its drugstores; and non-food products at gas stations. In addition, it is involved in e-commerce operations through the Websites, including Extra.com.br, Pontofrio.com.br, Casasbahia.com.br, Comptoirsante.com, Moncornerdeco.com, Monshowroom.com, Barateiro.com.br, PartiuViagens.com.br, and Cdiscount.com; the provision of B2B solutions, such as eHub, an e-commerce platform solution for third parties; and the rental of commercial spaces. The company operates its stores principally under the Pão de Açúcar, Minuto Pão de Açúcar, Extra Hiper, Extra Super, Minimercado Extra, Assaí, Ponto Frio, Casas Bahia, and Conviva names. As of December 31, 2014, it operated 1,902 stores, 83 gas stations, and 158 drugstores in 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District. Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil.
